The Engagement Model

Built for how delivery leaders actually work.

No months-long discovery. No generic frameworks. A structured process that produces specific, actionable deliverables for your exact team, in days.

The Process

How a Catalyst Advisory engagement works.

01

The Assessment

Half day to one day

What happens

The delivery team lead completes the 260-question structured assessment across 13 sections covering every dimension of agile maturity. Catalyst Advisory can facilitate the session in person or remotely, or the team lead can complete it independently with advisor support available throughout.

The 13 sections assessed:

  • Agile Practice Management
  • Release Management
  • Backlog Refinement
  • Sprint Planning
  • Daily Standup
  • Sprint Review
  • Sprint Retrospective
  • Culture
  • Security & Compliance
  • Quality Assurance
  • User Experience
  • Business Relationship
  • Product Development
What you walk away with

A complete scored dataset across all 13 sections with maturity levels, section percentages, and facilitator notes captured throughout. The raw material for everything that follows.

02

The Context Interview

60–90 minutes

What happens

A focused interview with the delivery leader — and optionally with key team leads or stakeholders — captures the organizational context the scoring cannot: team dynamics, personnel sensitivities, organizational politics, strategic pressures, history of what was tried before and what did not stick.

Seven specific context areas explored:

  • Team size and composition
  • Current delivery model
  • Primary tooling
  • Industry and business context
  • Key challenges and pain points
  • Strategic and board-level pressure
  • Advisor observations and direct notes
What you walk away with

A complete organizational picture that transforms a generic scorecard into a blueprint that reads as if the advisor has been embedded in the organization for months.

03

Deliverables and Findings Presentation

90-minute presentation session

What happens

The four deliverables are generated from the combined assessment and context data. A structured 90-minute findings presentation is delivered to the delivery leader covering the full blueprint, the 100-day plan in operational detail, and guidance on how to present the Executive Brief to the board and the Team Brief to the team.

What you walk away with

All four deliverables ready to use. A delivery leader who understands the findings, owns the plan, and knows exactly what to say in the next three conversations.

How the Deliverables Are Generated

Two inputs. One blueprint. Four deliverables.

Every deliverable is derived from the same two sources: the team's scored assessment and the advisor's context interview. The blueprint is the master document from which everything else is generated. The richer the context interview, the sharper every deliverable.

The Difference

This is not a maturity framework. It is a diagnostic.

Specific, not generic

A standard maturity assessment tells you where you are. This one tells you why you are there, what the pattern means for your specific team, and what to do about it in the next 10 days. Every finding cites actual assessment evidence. Every recommendation has a named owner and a deadline.

Deliverables, not recommendations

Most assessments produce a report with recommendations. This engagement produces four ready-to-use documents — a Word document, two PowerPoint decks, and a Jira-ready Excel workbook. The delivery leader walks away with everything needed to act, present, and execute.

Days, not months

The full engagement — assessment, interview, four deliverables, and findings presentation — is designed to complete within one week. No multi-month discovery. No framework workshops. No steering committee.

Built for re-engagement, not transformation

Most teams do not need to be rebuilt. They need to be re-anchored. This engagement is designed to identify the specific practices that have lapsed and restore them — without disrupting delivery or alarming the team.
